Deep Dive 1 - How to shift minds and influence change: Why messaging matters for primary prevention
Deep Dive
Session Description
Crafting strategic and engaging messages that shift minds and influence change is at the core of primary prevention practice and is the focus for PreventX: Messaging for a Movement.
This session will set the scene for this years’ PreventX and provide a taster of what is to come over the following two days. Panelists will explore how to think about and design messaging for primary prevention that is effective in advocacy, policy, communications, campaigns and programs in all places where people live, work, learn and play.
We will unpack some of the fundamental questions for the conference: What is messaging, and why does it matter for primary prevention? What are some evidence-based frameworks we can use, e.g. values based messaging? What can we learn from other movements and other fields? How do we make sure our messages are tailored to the audience they are trying to reach? How do we make sure our work is as inclusive as possible?
