Dr Stephanie Lusby (she/her)
Manager - Research and Impact - Respect Victoria
Professional Bio
Dr Stephanie Lusby is Manager of Research and Influence at Respect Victoria and an adjunct research fellow with the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at La Trobe University. Since 2006, Stephanie has led and contributed to social research focused on primary prevention of family violence, violence against women and other forms of gendered violence in Australia and across the Pacific region. This includes work that investigates men's engagement in prevention of violence against women and HIV prevention; experiences of LGBTIQA+ people accessing family and sexual violence supports; and the ways that gender norms inform civic engagement and governance. Stephanie's approaches to research and practice in prevention are informed by her experiences as a victim-survivor. She is passionate about building knowledge about effective and intersectional approaches to primary prevention; and the ways in which primary prevention scaffolds and sustains the positive impacts of early intervention, response and recovery efforts across family and sexual violence sectors.
