Somali Cerise is a gender equality and human rights expert with 20 years’ experience leading significant policy and research initiatives across Australia and globally. In 2021, Somali led the team at the Australian Human Rights Commission conducting the Independent Review into Commonwealth Parliamentary Workplaces. She currently works on a range of gender equality initiatives including with Elizabeth Broderick & Co, the Equality Institute, UN Women, and the University of Sydney. Somali is the Member of the Policy and Advisory Committee for the National Women’s Safety Alliance, a board member of ACON and an Honorary Associate Professor at the Australian National University Gender Institute.
