Health Promotion Project Worker - Gippsland Women's Health

Professional Bio

Leanne has a Master of Public Health from Monash University and works as a Health Promotion Project Worker at Gippsland Women’s Health (GWH). Leanne is the lead project worker for gendered violence prevention at GWH and coordinates ‘Let’s Chat Gippsland’ - Gippsland’s localised response to the 16 Days of Activism. Leanne has been part of the ‘Let’s Chat Gippsland’ campaign since it’s inception in 2021. The campaign has grown exponentially across the region with 83 partner organisations involved in supporting and promoting our regionwide framework. Across Gippsland, all six local government areas have continued to work collaboratively on shared branding and events, including the Big Respect Photo Pop-Up project and the Let’s Chat Social Media campaign. Over 900 people across Gippsland participated in the Big Respect Photo Pop-Up project in 2023. The project was a collaboration of 98 partner organisations and professionals that went to 10 different locations, including 6 community facing events, 2 workplaces and 2 secondary schools. Through simple conversations, Gippslanders were encouraged to challenge the inequities that drive violence against women, to learn that gendered violence is preventable, to actively ’call it out” and “make a difference” to the lives of women, children and families.
