Project Coordinator – Margins to the Mainstream: preventing violence against women with disabilities - Women’s Health East
Professional Bio
Avega has coordinated the Margins to the Mainstream Project at Women's Health East since July 2020. Highlights include:
- On-going learning from the women with lived experience of disabilities in the Project Experts Group and
- The messages and resources co-designed and promoted by the Experts Group for organisations to take action to address gender inequality and ableism in their prevention work.
She values participatory approaches to design, monitoring and evaluation, and fostering participatory learning and action in teams, groups and communities. Much of Avega's working life has focused on advancing gender equality, women's rights and violence prevention in international development projects, programs and organisations. She has a Masters degree in Evaluation.
